Searching
Use the SHTL button, JOG button, DMC button, and search dial to
search for edit points and other locations on the tape. An efficient
way to search is to first use shuttle mode to move near the desired
scene, and then use jog mode to find the precise edit point.
To search in shuttle mode
Operate as follows.

1Press the SHTL button, lighting it.
2Rotate the search dial.
Rotating the dial to the right lights the FORWARD indicator
and plays back the tape in the forward direction.
Rotating the dial to the left lights the REVERSE indicator and
plays back the tape in the reverse direction.
Tape speed changes according to the angle at which you rotate
the dial.
