3-2. Circuit Board Replacement Procedure
Reading Out and Writing Down the Data to be Stored
1. Click [Version] on the toolbar, then click [DMS] in the Version window.
The DMS Board Version window appears, showing the serial number of the DMS and version
number of the CPU-298 board.
2. Write down the serial number as a memo, then click [Close].

The system may not get the correct serial number if the board has a problem.
If the DMS Board Version window is not displayed, obtain the serial number from the latest system
information file.
3. When the monitor window is not displayed, click on [Test] from the menu bar and click on [Monitor]
of the test menu.
The monitor window is displayed.
4. Click on the [DMS Hours] toolbar on the monitor window.
The DMS hours meter window appears and the data of the hours meter is displayed. Leave the MMT
as is.
5. Turn off the power of the console.
6. Replace with a CPU-298 board.
7. Turn on the bit 8 of S1 (A-5) of the CB-105 board and turn on the power of the console.
8. After OInitial Request� of the DMS status of MMT is displayed, select the newest normal data of the
DMS hours meter window and click on [Revise].
After the revise DMS hours meter dialog box appears, click on [OK]. Then, the data of the hours
meter that has been displaying is recorded to the new CPU-298 board.

Sometimes values of the hours meter cannot be acquired normally if the board is defective.
Select the newest data having normal values.
If all the displayed data has defective values, display the system information file and enter the newest
values in ODMS Hours Meter�.
9. Click [OK] in the Revise DMS Hours Meter dialog box.
The displayed hours meter data is stored in the new CPU-298 board.
10. Set the serial number that was written down on the DMS panel as follows.
(1) Press the MENU button to display the menu.
(2) Press the cursor keys to select O3. Set up� and press the ENTER button.
(3) Press the ENTER button again to set the data input mode.
(4) Input the serial number with the cursor keys.
(5) Press the ENTER button to set the serial number.
11. Turn off the power of the console again and turn off the bit 8 of the S1 (A-5) of the CB-105 board.
12. Turn on the power of the console.
Then, operations on the new CPU-298 board become possible.
13. Click [Test] on the menu bar, then [Program] on the Test menu.
The Program dialog box appears.
14. Enter Otest� in the Command text box, then click [Execute].
The confirmation message appears.
15. Click [OK].
This sets the DMS to test mode, and enables you to use the DMS control commands.
16. Enter Oinit� in the Command text box, then click [Execute].
DMS full initializing starts.
17. After full initialization, enter Oremote� in the Command text box, then click [Execute].
Or, close the Program dialog box.
This sets the DMS to remote mode, that is, the normal operation mode.
The DMS resumes operation with the new CPU-298 board.
