Section 1
Service Overview
1-1. Precautions Upon Servicing
The inside of the system console is dangerous as the transfer block and carrier block
inside are moving at very high speeds. There are also blind spots around the console
caused by the limited visual field. Before beginning servicing, be sure to read the
following precautions carefully to ensure safety.
w
(1) Be sure to turn off the specified power before servicing.
Touching the live winding circuit at repairing may cause failure or electric
shock. Touching the transfer block while it is moving at a high speed will cause
serious injuries.
Before servicing, turn off the power of system by the procedure describing in
Section 1-1 and so on.
(2) After turning off the power, do not open the door until turning off the
UPS.
This system receives its power via the UPS (Uninterruptible Power Supply
System). Therefore even if the power of the console is cut, the primary side
power continues working and may cause the risk of electric hazards.
(For the procedures to turn off the power of UPS, refer to Section 1-1-2.)
(3) Do not turn on the power with the interlock switch released.
When the power is turned on, the transfer block starts. Touching the transfer
block while it is moving at a high speed will cause serious injuries.
(4) Before starting the remote control, check the surrounding safety of the
console.
Start the system after ensuring that there is no one working with the insides of
the console or around the console. When performing remote operations from the
PSC (PetaSite Controller) and host, ensure safety by informing others of each
step you are taking first.
(5) Turn on the power according to instructions.
(For details and notes, refer to the Installation Manual.)
c
Before servicing the insides of the console, note the sharp edges of protrusions.
