3-9-4. Gear Base Assembly Replacement
The transfer assembly is attached with two gear base assemblies {gear base assem-
bly (upper) and gear base assembly (lower)} at the top and bottom. Although service
parts and attaching positions differ between these gear base assemblies, they can be
replaced using the same procedure. This section describes the replacement procedure
for both assemblies.

Always replace the gear base assembly after attaching the shipping bracket to ensure
safety.
If not, the transfer may turn over.
For details on attaching the shipping bracket, refer to the Installation Manual.
Preparation before Starting Work
1. Set the ROBOT POWER switch on the basic console and junction console to
the OO� (OFF) position.

Turn off the power of the UPS for systems not incorporating the UPS.
(Refer to the manual supplied with the UPS.)
2. Check the stop position of the transfer assembly, and open the doors of the
console in which the transfer assembly has stopped.
(Refer to Section 1-4.)
3. Open the bin door of the console in which the transfer assembly stopped.
(Refer to Section 1-4.)
4. Move the transfer assembly to the shipping position (basic console).

Hold the frame when moving the transfer assembly. Do not apply force to the
drive mechanism block or to the fragile parts, such as hand assembly, belt, etc.
