5-6-4. End of Restoration
When restoration succeeds
If restoration finishes successfully, the following message appears in the terminal software and the
restoration tool stops.
Data restoration finished successfully.
Shut down the system now.
Set the DIP switches to the original state.
Then, restart the system.�
Undo the settings made for the restoration tool and return the system to normal operating mode.
1. Press the SHUTDOWN to shut the system down.
2. Return the DIP switches on the CPU-253 board to their original settings.
3. Remove the loop-back cable from VIDEO OUTPUT 1 to VIDEO INPUT 2.
4. Restart the system.
When restoration fails
On rare occasions, data restoration can fail because of trouble with disks other than those in the replaced
unit.
In this case, the following message appears and another attempt is made to restore the data from the
position immediately before that where the trouble occurred.
OData restoration failed. Retrying.�
However, after restoration fails 5 times, no further attempts are made to restore the data in the affected
section. The section is skipped and restoration continues with the following sections.
OData restoration failed 5 times.
Skipping the broken part.�
In this case, the following message is displayed when restoration ends.
OReached EOS.
Data restoration may have FAILED.
Shut down the system and restart it, then check the data.�
Undo the settings made for the restoration tool, return the system to normal operating mode, and check
the data in the section where the trouble occurred.
1. Press the SHUTDOWN to shut the system down.
2. Return the DIP switches on the CPU-253 board to their original settings.
3. Remove the loop-back cable from VIDEO OUTPUT 1 to VIDEO INPUT 2.
4. Restart the system.
Messages other than those described above may appear, but these are internal FARAD messages. They
are not related to data restoration.
